Figure 2. Four pictures from a video showing the infection behavior of Emblemasoma auditrix. A male cicada was attached on top of a loudspeaker. The fly approaches the host by walking (A), visually identifies the wings and the abdomen (B, C) and squeezes caudally underneath the wings (C, D). During the contact phase (D) it pushes the left wings aside, moves anteriorly with the head on top of the cicada and attempts to locate the timbal with its ovipositor. Scales: 1 cm.
